The Schilcher is not just another wine. It has achieved „cult“ status because there is no other wine like it anywhere in the world. But the Culture Route proves that Western Styria has more than just excellent wines to offer in the way of „cult“ items. Museums, attractions and other centres of art and culture allow visitors a look at the history of the region and of Styria as a whole.
One of the highlights of the route is the church of St. Barbara in Bärnbach. The church was redesigned by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and has become an attraction not only for the local population, but also for many international tourists. But this is by no means the only sight worth seeing along the Culture Route.
